By providing affordable home repairs, our Home Repair Program preserves homeownership for low-income residents while alleviating critical health and safety concerns. All home repairs are performed by licensed contractors and overseen by our skilled construction staff. Qualified homeowners can find help with a variety of interior and exterior repairs.
Path to Homeownership
Families looking to become homeowners partner with Habitat to build a decent, affordable place to call home. As a Habitat homeowner, you’ll not only buy a home, but you'll gain the stability and security that comes with it and a strong foundation for generations to come.
Below are the steps to qualifying for Habitat Housing:
Step 1: Be Within Income Guidelines
Families should be within 35-80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) determined by the Department of HUD
Step 2: Demonstrate Need
Present housing not adequate
Unsafe of unhealthy living conditions
High cost burdens
Step 3: Demonstrate the Ability to Pay
Proof of steady income
Complete and full disclosure of financial status
Debt to income ratio (Outstanding monthly payments divided by monthly income)
Acceptable credit
Inaccurate or partial information is grounds for denial
Step 4: Be Willing to Partner with Habitat for Humanity
Sweat Equity = 500 hours minimum at construction site
Ability to take on homeownership responsibilities
Participation in homeowner classes
Providing timely and complete information

Housing Counseling
We are a HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency. Our one-on-one classes and workshops are 2-hours long and cover a variety of topics to help empower homeowners and homebuyers. We also offer a First-Time Homebuyer Workshop, which is 8-hours.
